The Research Institute for Children facilitates the development
of marketable products or processes from new research discoveries
and the distribution of those products or processes through successful
business ventures.
TECHNOLOGY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
------------------------------------------------------------------------
The mission of The Research Institute for Children (RIC) is to
combine the latest science and technology with conventional medical
practice to discover more effective ways to prevent and treat
childhood diseases. With its close proximity to Children’s
Hospital, the region’s only full-service medical center
exclusively for children, the RIC benefits from the ease at which
research efforts can be transferred from the bench to the bedside.
The Technology Development Program provides
the processes and/or infrastructure required to move a research
concept or technology from the research phase to the marketplace.
This Program supports:
Advancement of RIC faculty research results
toward full commercialization by promoting industry liaisons;
and Advancement of outside research when considered consistent
with RIC’s mission and a benefit to the RIC research program.
