Dr.
Han has a Ph.D. degree in Medical Genetics and was trained
in islet biology. She is studying the animal models
of obesity and type 2 diabetes induced by a high fat
diet or gene mutation. She is interested in how the
pancreatic beta cell’s function is compensated
or failed in these models, and how beta cell antioxidant
transgenes provide protection to the beta cells.
