Immunotoxin treated cell

We have conjugated anti-HIV monoclonal antibodies to ricin A-chain to kill HIV-infected cells. These immunotoxins are the most effective anti-HIV agents when tested in vitro. They have also been found effective in mouse and macaque models of HIV infection. This form of therapy may have a place in "activate and purge" protocols proposed to eliminate HIV from reservoirs within the body.
